AHA TRAINING CENTER

KCC has been teaching teaching CPR to the community since 1991 when it opened its American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center. The KCC Training Center offers all levels of Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support (Pediatric and Adult). In addition, we offer AHA First Aid programs. The KCC TC services Calhoun, Branch and Barry counties, providing quality education programs both on campus and available onsite to workplaces in our service area.

Face-to-Face Courses

EMT C300 – Basic Life Support (BLS) – for Healthcare Providers

This program is designed for the healthcare provider including physicians, nurses, EMT/Paramedics, and other allied health programs. This course is approximately 4-5 hours and includes adult, child, and infant CPR, as well as use of the Automatic External Defibrillator and bag-valve-mask devices. Certification in this course is often a requirement of employment.

This course is currently offered twice a month, on Tuesday Nights and Saturday mornings during the fall and spring semesters, and Tuesday nights in the summer semester.

Costs

EMT C300 Course Registration: $65/student
2020 BLS Provider book: $21 new through the KCC Bruin Bookstore.

Note: the 2020 BLS Provider Manual as well as a pre-course packet is required for all on-campus course participants. These are both available in the Bruin Bookstore.

EMT C305 – BLS Certification Renewal

Completion of EMT C300 – AHA BLS Certification or EMT C310 – AHA BLS Heartcode will complete this requirement. We currently are not offering any stand-alone Certification Renewal courses.

Hybrid Courses

EMT C310 – AHA BLS Heartcode

The AHA BLS Heartcode course is designed as a hybrid course to allow students to complete the majority of the training online, then complete the skills check-off in person.

Students must first purchase and complete the Heartcode BLS Training (AHA Product Number: 20-3553) available at shopcpr.heart.org/heartcode-bls. A copy of your certificate of completion must be brought with you to your skills check-off

Once completed, please complete the form below to request a course for your testing. A minimum of 2 weeks is required to schedule students for an individual course.

EMT C410 – AHA ACLS Heartcode

The AHA ACLS Heartcode course is designed as a hybrid course to allow students to complete the majority of the training online, then complete the skills check-off in person.

Students must first purchase and complete the Heartcode ACLS Training (AHA Product Number: 20-3554) available at shopcpr.heart.org/heartcode-acls. A copy of your certificate of completion must be brought with you to your skills check-off

Courses can be completed in-person or in a hybrid online/in-person format.

Become an AHA Instructor


The KCC Training Center also teaches the BLS, ACLS and PALS Instructor programs. These programs allow individuals to teach at these levels through a training center. All of these certification require that the individual to first have taken the initial BLS, ACLS or PALS provider program before being eligible to add the instructor endorsement.

Below are all forms which must be completed and emailed to aha@kellogg.edu upon completing a course. Please ensure all paperwork is submitted correctly; any errors may delay the issuing of eCards.

Any additional course paperwork is located on the AHA Instructor Network.

Please note: eCards are issued within 2 weeks of the completion of the course, but are typically processed within 5 business days of receiving course paperwork.
