LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES READINESS

Learning Technologies Readiness is a one-time prerequisite for students taking Kellogg Community College classes. Learning Technologies Readiness takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and will help you navigate through your classes at KCC.

This course must be completed prior to registering for any KCC class. Grades are posted within 24 hours each business day. Steps to register and complete Learning Technologies Readiness are outlined below.

How to Register

  1. Log in to the Bruin Portal
  2. Click on “Academics” on the left side menu
  3. Click on the “Search for Classes” button
  4. Click on “Orientations” and choose “KCCS-C101 Learning Technologies Readiness”
  5. Click on “View Available Sections for KCCS-C101” and select and available course
  6. Click on the “Add Section to Schedule” button
  7. Click “Add Section”
  8. Click “Academics” on the left side menu and choose “Plan and Schedule”
  9. Click on the course in your plan and then click on the register in the box on the left; your course should turn from yellow to green

Get Started

  1. The course will appear in the Bruin Portal in the “Moodle” section (this may take up to 15 minutes after registration).
  2. Click on the course title (for example, “23/SP Learning Technologies Readiness (KCCS C101)”). This link will take you into the course.
  3. Once in the course, you will see “Start Here” with a link to the “Learning Technologies Readiness Assessment.” If you score an 85% or higher on this assessment, you are all done! Your grade will be automatically submitted (submission occurs every hour).
  4. If you do not pass the “Learning Technologies Readiness Assessment” with an 85% or higher, you will be directed to additional resources so you may complete the course lessons.
  5. There are a total of four lessons; each must be completed with a grade of 80% or higher. If you score lower than 80%, you may repeat the lesson to get a higher score. Please note: You may repeat the lesson up to three times. The system will record your highest score.
  6. Once you have achieved an 80% or higher on a lesson, the next lesson will unlock.
  7. When you have completed all four lessons, make sure to retrieve your Certificate of Completion (which will also trigger your final grade submission).
