MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Maintenance Technicians perform a wide variety of troubleshooting, repairing, and preventative maintenance duties in an organization. They could find themselves working with a plethora of systems including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

KCC’s Maintenance Technician Certificate prepares students to quickly step into one of the thousands of maintenance tech positions currently unfilled in the State of Michigan, while also providing flexibility for student interests as well as the breadth of positions available. This certificate is also intended to be completed in as little as one year.

Course Sequences

Unlike traditional academic courses, the offerings in KCC’s Maintenance Technician Certificate Program consist of short modules. Modules are often less than one credit apiece and can be completed at a student’s own pace in a matter of hours or days.

The first roughly half of the program (8.72 credits) is predetermined modules from our Industrial Technology program, while the second half consists of modules from any Industrial Trade of your choice. These electives can be chosen to aid in your career aspirations, whether that’s HVAC, welding or something else.
