POLICE IN-SERVICE TRAINING
Kellogg Community College is committed to providing quality in-service police training. We are the administrator of the Tri-County Law Enforcement Consortium, which currently consists of 24 member police agencies. Membership is voluntary, but the benefits include a free legal update, advance notification of seminars and discounted rates for seminars.
Our police in-service training is always on the leading edge. Our recognized specialties include SWAT, K9, Firearms Instructor, Basic Crime Scene, Dignitary Protection, Emergency Vehicle Operations and the Police Patrol Canine School.
We continue to bring in training on a variety of topics from nationwide experts to accommodate the needs of our law enforcement community. If your department has specific training needs please contact the Criminal Justice Office at any time and we will do our best to meet your needs.
All of our training is approved by MCOLES and eligible for 302 funds.

MILO Use-of-Force Simulation
The MILO Shooting simulator provides officers with the ability to use their training to practice use-of-force and shoot/don’t-shoot scenarios within a safe and controlled environment. The MILO system uses two Glock-style handguns equipped with lasers, a taser, pepper spray and long-gun attachments. Common scenarios include patrol operations, active shooter, domestic violence and more.
Many departments have trained their officers on the MILO system. The training consists of a two- to four-hour time blocks with two to four participants per block. Officers are evaluated for each scenario based on Appropriate Use of Force, Use of Cover and Concealment, Weapons Handling, Fire Discipline, Threat Recognition, Reaction to Stimulus, Teamwork and Verbal Interaction as they relate to the scenario itself.
Cost: $50 per officer for two- to four-hour training block (maximum of four officers per block)
Training is available for use of 302 funds.
