FIELD OF STUDY & GENERAL SCHOLARSHIPS

The Field of Study and General Scholarship Application for priority awarding is open from December 1 – March 2, 2026.  The KCC Foundation will still accept applications, from March 3 – July 20, 2026.  However, the majority of the funding is awarded during the priority application period. For assistance, contact the KCC Foundation at 269-965-4161 or [email protected].

The KCC Foundation provides scholarship assistance to Kellogg Community College students through a variety of field of study and general scholarship funds. These annual scholarships are available to KCC students based on financial need, academic achievement, donor-specified criteria and/or field of study. Scholarship awards range from $250-$3,000. The scholarship application process is competitive. All scholarship applications are reviewed and scored by a scholarship team of faculty, staff, retirees and volunteers and are given equal consideration.

Scholarship Application Process

To apply for a scholarship, you may:

  • Be a new or returning student
  • Be a full-time or part-time student
  • Reside in or out of district
  • Fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (while this is highly encouraged, it is not required to apply for KCC Foundation scholarships)

To apply for a scholarship, you must:

  • Have an admission application on file with the KCC Admissions Office (be sure to allow the Admissions Office a few days to process). A KCC username and password is required to submit a scholarship application. Please note: If you are currently a dual-enrolled student, you will still need to apply for admission to KCC.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (some scholarships require a GPA higher than 2.0).
    • If you have below a 2.0 GPA, you may be considered for scholarships if you have a letter of recommendation from a KCC faculty member, counselor or financial aid staff member.

Please note:  Most scholarships can be used for tuition, fees, books and/or required course supplies.  Unused awards will not be refunded. Scholarships cannot be used at a different college or university.

Here is the scholarship application process:

  • Visit kcc.awardspring.com to start your General Scholarship Application.
  • When finished filling out the application, click submit at the bottom. It will not submit if all the sections are not completed. Once submitted, your application will automatically match you with scholarships that the KCC Foundation offers.  There may be additional questions or items you will need to submit. The “Dashboard” on the left side will let you know what tasks remain.
  • If you click “Scholarships” on the left side, you will see what scholarships you were automatically applied/qualified for and which ones you did not qualify for.

Scholarship Renewal

Field of Study and General scholarships are awarded on a year-to-year basis. Students must reapply every year by submitting a new application.
