NURSING ASSISTANT TRAINING

Kellogg Community College’s Nursing Assistant Training Program (course NURS 105) is an 80.5-hour course approved by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. The training program prepares students to take the Michigan Nursing Assistant Test to become Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). KCC offers the program throughout the year in full-semester (11-week), six-week or expedited three-week (12-day) options, with training locations on campuses in Albion, Battle Creek, Coldwater and Hastings.

After completing KCC’s Nursing Assistant Training Program and passing the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) examination, CNAs are eligible to work in various health care settings, including adult foster care facilities, community health centers, home health agencies, hospice senior living centers, hospitals, long-term care facilities (nursing homes) and primary care agencies.

To register for Nurse Aide Training at KCC, start by setting up an appointment to meet with an academic advisor by calling 269-965-4124 or emailing advising@kellogg.edu.

CNA Certification

In addition to offering Nursing Assistant Training, KCC also is a regional test site for Michigan Nurse Assistant Testing. This is the examination that individuals who have completed their clinical skills training must take to become certified nursing assistants (CNAs). Applications to test are processed and scheduled through Headmaster.

Students wishing to schedule their test should visit the Michigan TMU webpage and create a username and password at mi.tmutest.com. Securely processed Visa, Mastercard or debit card information is required when scheduling online. After paying your testing fees, you will be able to schedule up to one full business day prior to a scheduled test date of your choice. You will receive your test confirmation notification by email, text or by signing into your account. If you are unable to schedule online, please call D&SDT-Headmaster at 888-401-0462 for assistance. Please visit the Headmaster website for testing dates and times.

The KCC testing site opens at 7:30 a.m. for scheduled testing.

Students who complete the Nursing Assistant Training Program at KCC may be eligible for KCC’s Nurse Aide Certification Testing Scholarship to cover testing fees. Click through the link for more information or contact the KCC Foundation at 269-965-4161.
